How this board opens
A first sweep of the overlap rule down the rows and across the columns settles 57 of the 225 cells, about 25%, which is enough of a skeleton to work outwards from. The most generous opening is row 1, which gives up 15 cells on its own. 4 of the 30 lines are decided outright by their clues, with no room to slide. Straight line logic carries it to 57 cells and then stalls, so the last 168 need cross-referencing between a row and a column that share a cell. The finished picture fills 59 cells, and the longest unbroken run anywhere in the clues is 6.
