About practice mode

Practice mode is the no-pressure way to play. There is no timer you have to beat, no streak to protect and no limit on how many puzzles you solve — pick one, work through it, and start another whenever you feel like it. It is the right place to try a technique you have just read about, or to warm up before taking on the daily puzzle.

Every practice puzzle comes from our own library rather than being thrown together on the spot. Each one has been checked to have exactly one solution reachable by logic alone, so if you get stuck the answer is always somewhere in the clues — you never need to guess. Sizes run from quick 5×5 sketches up to full 20×20 boards, so you can match the puzzle to the time you actually have.

Nothing here is saved to an account unless you have one: your progress on the current board is kept in your own browser, so you can close the tab and come back without losing your place. If you would rather browse and pick a specific picture or theme instead of taking whatever comes next, the puzzle catalog lists everything by size and by category.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to play practice puzzles?

No. Practice mode is completely free and works without signing up. An account only adds cross-device syncing of your history and streak — the puzzles themselves are the same either way.

How is practice different from the daily puzzle?

The daily puzzle is one shared board that everyone gets on the same day, and it feeds your streak. Practice puzzles are unlimited, can be played in any order, and never affect your streak — so you can experiment freely.

Can I choose the size of a practice puzzle?

Yes. Browse the catalog by grid size and open any puzzle you like, from a 5×5 warm-up to a 20×20 challenge.
